MOLECUBES User Training – August 31 – September 2, 2023

We are happy to announce that for the first time we will organize a user training event in our hometown Ghent, Belgium! You can expect a combination of hands-on training at our R&D facilities, combined with PMOD postprocessing training, both on a basic and advanced level. The training will take place from August 31 until September 2nd, and we are able to welcome 25 attendees. Did we spark your interest? Check out the preliminary agenda and register via the form below. The course content will be adapted to your learning needs via a survey that will be sent one month before the course. In addition, the PMOD team offers the opportunity to share your data and questions in advance, so it can be discussed onsite during a 1-on-1 meeting during the course breaks.

Thursday August 31 – Welcome

  • Afternoon: welcome & MOLECUBES overview

    • User presentations: present your lab and research – folllowed by scientific speed dating
  • Evening: Social event: Informal evening to catch up with MOLECUBES and PMOD team and get to know the other users

Friday September 1 – Lab day 

  • Get hands-on experience on basic or advanced topics. Below we do a few suggestions, but we want to know what you are interested in and will share a survey on key interests in advance.
  • Basic topics
    • Tips and tricks in animal handling (what we routinely do and use in the lab and what can we learn from you)
    • System quality control (QC)
    • Basic study set up acquisition and reconstruction flows (PET/SPECT CT)
    • Basic data viewing and analysis with PMOD
    • Best practices from other users
  • Advanced topics
    • Advanced CT, PET and SPECT protocols (respiratory/cardiac gated imaging, custom CT, dynamic scanning and kinetic modeling, mouse hotel scanning, multi-isotope scanning)
    • Introduction to online blood sampling with Swisstrace
    • Basic data viewing and analysis with PMOD
    • Best practices from other users

Saturday September 2 – Postprocessing & free time

Target audience

The course is aimed at both participants new to the CUBES and PMOD, and with intermediate/advanced knowledge. The group will be split in two based on knowledge level, to make sure everyone can get the most out of the training. The course language will be English and training will be provided by senior MOLECUBES and PMOD staff.

Cost & cancellation policy

  • The cost of the training is 400 (early bird – until April 30) -500 euro (regular fee – until July 15) and covers all training materials, refreshments, lunch, dinner and social events. Travel and accommodation is not included and must be booked individually (hotel recommendations will be provided).
  • Registration will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximal number of 25 participants.
  • Registration is handled through MOLECUBES website. A confirmation e-mail will be sent and an invoice will be provided soon afterwards.
  • The organizers reserve the right to cancel the course. In case of cancellation, the registered participants will be notified and will receive a full refund.
