Cardiac gated PET imaging in mouse and rat
In the examples below, a rat and mouse were injected with 17 and 8.8 MBq, respectively, of [18F]-FDG ± 80 minutes prior to cardiac gated PET scanning (dose at start scan: 10.2 and 5.5 MBq, respectively). For each cardiac cycle, 8 gates were defined and for each gate a PET image was reconstructed using the OSEM algorithm with default settings as provided by the Molecubes software

Brain imaging in rats and mice
PET-MR imaging provides unique and complimentary functional and anatomical information. The exceptional sensitivity of PET, combined with the excellent soft tissue contrast provided by MRI can be particularly beneficial when quantification of the PET signal requires delineating volumes of interest in an area where the CT image does not provide sufficient tissue contrast, e.g. in neurology applications.

The β-CUBE, a high-end compact preclinical benchtop PET for total body imaging (SNMMI, 2017)
To further improve preclinical PET, new systems should improve spatial resolution and sensitivity. Ideally this is obtained without increasing the total cost of the system. Based on monolithic scintillators with highly sampled readout and Depth-Of-Interaction capability, MOLECUBES developed a compact preclinical PET system, called the β-CUBE. Here, we report on the design, the specifications, performance evaluation and in-vivo imaging results.
